This hotel and restaurant had appointed a management team to maintain fire health and safety standards. Although members of the team had formal health & safety qualification, they were not happy that they had the competency to manage fire safety. FSD were approached for training and suggested their Mentoring Service.
The team were taken through the whole process from start to finish including a risk assessment template form. The training was conducted by touring the whole premises identifying fire precautions both passive and active. Students were assisted in identifying hazards and control measures. Further advise was providing in setting up management procedures including how to collate the necessary documentation, test certificates and how to develop a fire safety plan drawing.
The course was well recieved and enjoyed by all. The Hotel wwas invited to send a copy of their risk assessment once completed to their tutor for review and comment.
